I’m Chris Dabbs and I am a freelance broadcast journalist and Newsreader and a full-time professional voiceover artist with over 10 years of experience in TV, radio and corporate.
I am a radio newsreader for BBC Radio Kent, BBC Radio Sussex, BBC Radio Surrey and Times Radio.
As a Newsreader and Broadcast Journalist, I self produce half hourly news bulletins using and sourcing programme clips and other national news sources.
I am BJTC accredited and hold a first class BA(Hons) in Multimedia Broadcast Journalism and I am currently studying for my MA Journalism so I can also be NCTJ accredited.
My broadcast journalism experience includes newsreading, self-op overnights, podcasts, social media storytelling and self-shooting regional local political TV news including election coverage.
I have created an extensive source/contact book of London & south-east England based business leaders, local councillors, council officers, police and MPs all of whom trust me and are happy to be interviewed.
My producing skills include having an excellent sense of what is news and a real love of chasing down a story to find the main characters and then making contact by telephone/email and bidding for Zoom, radio or on-camera interviews.
